DYK yesterday was more than just any old Wednesday?
It was also National Bird Day, a day designed to raise awareness about our feathered friends and the roles they play in our history + culture — including the Northern Cardinal, which was named North Carolina's official state bird in 1943.
In addition to offering ample opportunities to admire them, the folks at the NC Arboretum will also be rolling out bird-themed activities, classes, and more for folks to enjoy in January and February.
