Western Carolina University is inviting prospective students to come explore campus, meet students and professors, and learn more about what the NC Promise university has to offer through an open house Saturday, Feb. 26.

Among the highlights visitors to Cullowhee will see are the new state-of-the-art Apodaca Science Building that opened last September and new residence halls slated to open this fall.

WCU’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts open houses for prospective students each spring and fall. A second campus open house is scheduled for Saturday, March 26. Both events run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The admissions office will also embark on a four-city tour in March. University representatives will travel to Hickory, Fayetteville, Raleigh and Charlotte to meet with potential undergraduate, graduate, transfer or distance students in those communities.

“We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to WCU on campus, in your neighborhood or online, whatever is the best option for you. But we hope to see you here in Cullowhee,” said Mike Langford, director of undergraduate admissions.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, WCU is requiring people on campus and at university events to wear face coverings indoors unless they are actively eating or drinking.
