ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville City Schools hopes to fill about 35 vacancies within the school system.
ACS is hiring for multiple positions, including instructional assistants, child nutrition workers, special education teachers, and the big one -- bus drivers.
"Bus drivers play a very, very important role. And not having the number of drivers, it hurts the system," assistant superintendent of human resources Mark Dickerson said. "Right now, we’re trying to make do with what we have. In an ideal situation, we would love to have that pool of permanent drivers and substitute teacher drivers.”
